Sept 16th USCCA Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals Course: This 8-hour course is for anyone considering or currently carrying a firearm for self-defense and is designed for beginner and experienced shooters. The course addresses key concepts of conflict avoidance and situational awareness, which are the foundation for developing your own personal protection plan. Training covers self-defense firearms basics, defensive shooting fundamentals, the physiology of violent encounters, the legal aspects of using deadly force (including knowing what to do in the aftermath), holsters and other equipment, and shooting skills development. NAFT-LLC uses a combination of laser training devices in the classroom and live fire on the gun range to teach basic and advanced shooting skills. Students receive USCCA's Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals training manual (a $29.95 value). The range activities require an Everyday Carry (EDC) firearm, your EDC holster, and 200 rounds of ammunition for your firearm. You will also need hearing protection and eye protection, as well as appropriate clothing, including a concealment garment (vest, shirt, or jacket). If you do not an EDC and holster, we will provide you with a firearm (.22 cal), holster, and .22 cal ammo at cost for this training. Almost all our range drills will begin with your firearm in a holstered and concealed position. Students must pass a written open book exam and demonstrate safe firearms handling to receive a USCCA course completion certificate. Course Fee: $185 ($75 deposit). Start Time 8:30 am.
Sept 30th: NRA Basic Metallic Cartridge Reloading Course CANCELLED DUE TO FAMILY EMERGENCY: This 8-hour hands-on class teaches beginning reloaders the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to reload metallic cartridges safely. The course covers; reloading safety, centerfire cartridge components, the use of reloading manuals and reloading data, basic reloading equipment, and the metallic cartridge reloading process. Students receive the NRA Guide to Reloading Handbook, other NRA materials, and a course completion certificate upon successfully completing the student exam. Course Fee: $130 ($75.00 Deposit)
Oct 14th & 27th NRA Basic Rifle (Prerequisite for Rifle Instructor Certification): This 8-hour course includes classroom and range time learning to shoot rifles. Students learn NRA's rules for safe gun handling; rifle parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench-rest and free arm and arm-rest standing positions; cleaning, and continued opportunities for skills development. Students receive a Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook and a course completion certificate upon successfully completing the course. Course Fee: $140.00 ($75.00 deposit) Start Time 8:30 am
Oct 28th NRA Basic Instructor Course (BIT): NRA Instructor Training Courses take experienced shooters and teach them to “teach” shooting using the NRA methodology and standards. . NRA certification consists of two parts. Part one is a 6-hour “Basic Instructor Training,” which is common to all instructor training courses and is valid for 2-years (good for any instructor course taken during this period). Part two is discipline-specific (rifle, shotgun, pistol, etc.) courses that run from five to 14 hours per discipline. The NRA Instructor courses. Oct 28th-29th NRA Rifle Instructor Certification: This 10-hour course certifies you as an NRA Rifle Instructor. To attend the Rifle Instructor Course, every candidate MUST have completed BIT in the past 24 months, show proof of successful completion (certificate) of the NRA Basic Rifle Shooting Student Course, and pass a pre-course assessment. The assessment includes safe handling and operation of bolt, lever, and semi-automatic action rifles along with passing a target shooting qualification at 25 yards. NAFT will provide you with the Rifle Instructor and student packet as part of the training. You must pass an open book test with 90% or better to receive your certificate at the end of the course.
